Calcetin Cavity liner
COMPOSITION
Calcium hydroxide, barium sulfate, paste-forming agent.
PROPERTIES
Calcium Hydroxide form an alkaline medium (pH more than 12) which provides durable antibacterial effect, increases pulp regeneration abilities and initiate formation of secondary dentine.
INDICATIONS
– Direct and indirect pulp capping
-Traumatic, acute serous and chronic fibrous pulpitis – Apexification and apexogenesis
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Drug idiosyncrasy.
Use with great care for allergic patient. Do not misuse.
SIDE EFFECTS
As far as all terms of storing, transporting and application are observed, there are no side effects
METHODS OF USE
Attention! Mix one dose meter (0.08–0.10 g) of powder with 2–3 drops (0.08–0.1 g) of distilled water on a mixingpadorglassplateforapprox1minute.Atroomtemperature(18–23)°C andrelativehumidity(45–55)% CALCETIN remains workable for approx 6–8 minutes.
For treatment of deep caries apply CALCETIN at the bottom of dried cavity. Remove the excess of paste.
Dry the paste with an air jet. Apply cement and start tooth crown restoration.
For pulp regeneration apply the paste after formation of deep cavity or in case of traumatic opening of the pulp. Treat the cavity with antiseptic and dry carefully. Apply CALCETIN up to dentino-enamel level, dry with an air jet. Tightly fill with GI cement.
In 1–2 weeks if no pain left, temporary filling can be removed completely or partially if needed. After cleaning of cavity and its antiseptic treatment, apply calcium lining. Then use GI cement and make tooth crown restoration. Re-examine the patient in 3–6 months time.
